In this free drum lesson, I want to teach you the main drum beat from the song “I Keep Forgettin’” by Michael McDonald featuring Jeff Porcaro on drums.
Jeff Porcaro lays down such a phat and groovy beat for this song. He follows the bass guitar musically and adds plenty of his own little touches throughout the performance.
The drum beat features a single handed sixteenth note hi-hat pattern but could be played as a double handed pattern instead. Also, this four bar excerpt is a combination of all the different variations Jeff plays on the recording.
