From the tender “Te recuerdo” (I remember you) to the rumbling subway sounds of “Metro Asfixia;” from the ironic rap, “This Doesn’t Happen at Michigan,” to the foot-stomping chorus, “It’s Not My Fault,” this audience-engaging production is both mesmerizing and memorable. As we tell the stories, our primarily global majority team celebrates our diverse music, dance, and storytelling cultures, as grounding ourselves in our cultures is an essential part of our healing journey.
In this film trailer, you will hear snapshots of survivors' stories, see glimpses of the culturally-rooted dances and choruses that express their stories, and find a close-knit community that formed across cultures and generations as we transformed our trauma to healing power through arts engagement.
