In this video, we discuss a real-time clinical case study of a 40-year-old female patient diagnosed with uterine fibroids and iron deficiency anemia, who was prescribed intravenous iron infusion due to poor response to oral iron therapy.
Shortly after completing the iron infusion, the patient developed acute anaphylaxis, a life-threatening hypersensitivity reaction characterized by breathlessness, urticaria, facial swelling, hypotension, and chest tightness. Emergency management was initiated immediately using adrenaline, antihistamines, corticosteroids, and oxygen support, leading to patient stabilization.
