FAA reduces flights at SeaTac and other busy airports over air traffic staffing shortage

Описание: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced it will reduce flight capacity nationwide starting Friday morning if air traffic controllers remain unpaid during the government shutdown.

The FAA said air traffic will be cut by 10% at 40 high-traffic markets, including Sea-Tac. According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, SeaTac is the 12th-busiest airport in the country.

ABC News reported the full list of airports affected on Thursday, but it's still unclear which airlines or routes will see the largest impacts.

Sean Duffy, the FAA Administrator, noted this was a "data-based decision" and it is designed to alleviate pressure on controllers as they work to keep the skies safe.
