Misdiagnosis and Gender Bias in Women with FH

Описание: On 21st September, just 3 days before FH Awareness Day, we hosted a webinar with 6 international female panellists. Rather than a series of slide presentations, the discussion was be moderated by a Patient Ambassador, living with #FH and elevated #Lp(a). Among the 5 female speakers are two leading researchers and advocates for greater research about women and CVD/FH/pregnancy. We have 3 female patients and fierce advocates who, between them, have a number of misdiagnosed heart attacks and experienced #gaslighting in the interactions with clinicians and the community.

• Professor Kirsten B Holven - the Head of Research at the National Advisory Unit for FH, Oslo University hospital, Kirsten is the leading advocate for greater research about women and CVD/FH/pregnancy.
• Dr Julia Brandts from Germany. In her day-to-day work, she sees patients with FH and analyses data from the global FH registry (EAS FHSC at the Imperial College London).
• Elsie Evans patient ambassador living with HoFH from the UK/South Africa,
• Chyrel Linchaa patient ambassador living with HoFH from Lebanon
• Caroline Verhage Founder of VrouwenHart from the Netherlands
