Blaze was written by Jim Fieldhouse as a personal "lockdown" composing and recording project during the coronavirus pandemic of 2020. This work is a fiery tour de force for accomplished euphonium ensembles and is definitely not for the faint hearted. Much of the melodic material centres around the use of repeated semiquavers and relies on razor sharp precision to bring it off the page. Relentless driving melody lines are laid over funk influenced grooves and driving bass riffs.
