Approaches with Proxies or Instrumental Variables.
In this video we consider possible approaches to identification of the causal effects of the policy. In particular, we consider approaches that require proxies or instrumental variables. Each approach requires some restrictions on the confound. In accordance with our view that such restrictions should be motivated on economic grounds, our discussion emphasizes and contrasts the economic content of different possible restrictions.
