We Raced Tony Stewart Again… Then Everything Went Wrong

Описание: The NHRA Gatornationals has been absolutely out of control this year. The crowd has been SOLD OUT every day, and everywhere you look it’s just a sea of people. I love seeing the sport like this.
Race day started before the sun even came up, and thanks to the time change it made for a pretty short night of sleep.
When we got to the track, the day immediately threw us a curveball with an unexpected engine change. No better way to wake up the crew though — once we warmed the car up we rolled straight to the starting line for first round.
And who do we line up against?
Tony Stewart.
Yep… again.
We had just raced Tony yesterday in the callout race and beat him. Unfortunately this time the race didn’t last long. The car shook so violently the cameras didn’t even work, and I’ll show you some of the damage and parts that didn’t survive the run.
From there we caught my teammate Tony Schumacher in his first round matchup against Shawn Reed, signed a mountain of autographs, and had one of the coolest surprise visits of the day when former NASCAR president Mike Helton stopped by.
Round two brought another great matchup for Tony against rookie Madi Gordon. Tony had the race… until he didn’t — and Madi advanced to the semifinals in her very first race.
More autographs, lots of race fans, and we finished the day with a little bench racing session with Jeff Lutz, Ryan, Stacey, and Donna.
But wait… don’t leave yet.
The 0–60 Rental Car Challenge is BACK, and this one completely surprised me because my first thoughts about this car were way off.
That’s a wrap on Race #1 of the season — and if the rest of the year is anything like the Gators, we’re in for one heck of a ride.
