there is an underground kingdom where each day is night and where each night is day, a place long forgotten in time. the birthplace of magic. the labyrinth.
just as the wind carries with it a different season, every new age brings its own king. as long ago as when the earth first took shape, the labyrinth has had its rightful ruler. from almost forgotten serpen and haden to his own grandfather and father. and now to him, jareth. the king of the underworld, the only son of king riven and queen enda.
the time has come, yet again, for the labyrinth to choose its next queen. the time has come for the goblin king to lure his bride with the sweet scent of the ripen fruit.
somewhere in the distance, sarah could smell the fresh sweetness of peaches.

each bride has her own fruit e.g. peach for sarah, plum for enda, pomegranate for zenais, apple for eden.
those of fey whose blood is pure, have the ability to shapeshift ergo jareth's snow owl, riven's black stallion, haden's dog and serpen's snake.
labyrinth gives as much as it takes; every king will have one male heir and when his time comes, he will be put to test by the labyrinth. the life of a child, for the life of a mother. not one bride lives long enough to see her son grow into manhood.
