"TV A Crítica Logo History" compiled by TR3X Productions, 24/11/2025.
Please note: This compilation, like all others on this channel, was uploaded for non-commercial purposes.
TLDR: This video will cover the various logos and idents from TV Baré (1972-86) and its successor TV A Crítica (1986-present), both based in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. Their stations outside of Manaus as well as their affiliated stations (both established after TV A Crítica went independent from Record in June 2019) are not featured in this compilation.
01) TV Baré launched as the second TV channel of Manaus on 2nd June 1972 (the first was TV Ajuricaba on New Year's Eve 1968), and was an affiliated station of Rede Tupi until 18th July 1980, when the federal government of Brazil ceased operations of Rede Tupi. TV Baré subsequently became an affiliate of TVS-Record and later switched to SBT in the following year.
Named after Radio Baré (1938-2023) in Manaus, that was managed by Diários Associados since 1945, and they also worked on the development of TV Baré in the late 1960s as well as managing them from its launch until 1986, when Umberto Calderaro Filho (co-founder of the newspaper A Crítica) acquired the station and renamed it to TV A Crítica.
02) TV A Crítica was named after the newspaper A Crítica (1949-) and both of them are owned by Rede Calderaro de Comunicação, which appears on-screen in the first logo (1986) and the 2022 year-end special with the 50th anniversary variant of the tenth logo (2022-23). Like TV Baré, they were an affiliate of SBT which lasted until 2007, when they transferred to Record on 1st September 2007. Note the design of the ninth logo (2017-19) which has a similar appearance to the Record logo from 2016-23.
On 10th May 2019, TV A Crítica announced that they would leave Record by 17th June, which actually occurred two weeks earlier on 3rd June; that day also saw the debut of their tenth logo (2019-24). After they left Record, the station became independent and started to showed interest in expanding across Brazil, ie opening TV stations in other states and affiliating with stations in numerous states, e.g. TV A Crítica Sinop (formerly known as TV Nova Capital, shown in the compilation just before the 2021-22 ident variant of the tenth logo).
Much of their TV programmes can be found on YouTube, although this only applies to the 2010s onwards when TV A Crítica launched their channel in April 2016. They have broadcast the popular annual Parintins Folklore Festival since 2000 (break from 2008-12 when it was broadcast by Band), which occurs during the last three days of June in the city of Parintins, Amazonas, and is one of the very few places in the world that sells Coca-Cola cans in blue! This only occurs during the festival since the two groups performing in that event are Boi Garantido (red) and Boi Caprichoso (blue). Other popular shows include Alert, Magazine, The Box, Morning in the Air and more.
