Описание: "United Artists Television Logo History (featuring Ziv Television)" made by TR3X Productions, 31/10/2024.
This video covers the logos of Ziv Television (1950-60), United Artists Television (1959-86) and Ziv-United Artists (1960-62), along with the two latest re-emergences of UATV, those being United Artists Media Group (2014-16) and United Artists Digital Studios (2018).
Ziv Television Programs was founded by Frederick Ziv in 1948 (related to the syndicated radio Ziv company from 1937), and their first on-screen logo (which does not make an appearance in this video since it is part of opening title cards) made an appearance on Yesterday's Newsreel and Easy Aces in 1948 and 1949 respectively, the latter of which aired on the Dumont Television Network until 1950. Their first main series on television was the Cisco Kid (1950-56), the first TV series to be filmed in colour despite viewers did not see it in colour until a decade or two later! Ziv Television, like its radio counterpart, focused on first-run syndication throughout the 1950s, and they are claimed to be the first major first-run television syndicator. By the late 1950s, United Artists arrived in the television scene when they established their TV division in 1958, and two years later, they bought Ziv Television with the aim of creating a merger with them and UATV called Ziv-United Artists. This lasted for two years, and the sole logo from them appeared on shows like Bat Masterton (1958-61), Sea Hunt (1958-61) and King of Diamonds (1961-62). When Ziv-United Artists became dormant in mid-1962, United Artists brought back their old name (UATV) and continued to release more shows into the end of the decade; some examples include the Outer Limits (1963-65), the Fugitive (1963-67), Gilligan's Island (1964-67) and the Pink Panther Show (1969-79). In 1981, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer acquired United Artists and created a merger together called MGM/UA, which affected United Artists Television by 1983 as MGM/UA Television appeared more on-screen than the former, although UATV would get credited infrequently until the first half of the 1990s. Two decades later, MGM obtained a 55 percent stake in One Three Media and Lightworks Media in mid-2014, and the two companies were both merged to form United Artists Media Group, except this was short-lived as it was folded into MGM Television in early 2016. United Artists Digital Studios was also short-lived, only appearing on the Stargate Origins web miniseries in early 2018, while the former appeared on the Voice (Series 7), Shark Tank (S6) and more.
