Nailing the Contact to Cot Transfer

Sometimes transferring your baby from your arms to their bed can feel like transferring a ticking time bomb!
Firstly, don't rush it! Take your time. You don't want to startle your little one.
Secondly, make sure the room is ready. Blinds closed (not done in this video), pink noise on, cot empty and ready.
OPTION 1
Wait until they're in a deep sleep - 20 minutes
OPTION 2
Slow and steady
Pat in arms
Lower feet first into the cot
Keep patting
Slide your arm out
Keep patting
If bub has their arms out, hold their hands to their chest as you gently roll them onto their back
Keep patting their hip or nappy
Gentle hand pressure on their chest
Walk Away!
That takes practise for you AND your baby. Don't give up if it doesn't work the first time. Keep trying.
