On the shores of Lake Titicaca, some 4000 meters above sea level, highland natives struggle to preserve and protect the customs of their ancestors. The solemnity and peacefulness of this region are expressed in this slow “huayno”, the most prevalent rhythm in the Andes of Peru and Bolivia. This melody is from Puno in southeastern Peru.
