I've been part of this gaggle of folk for quite some time now. Each year Stuart organises a place to start and finish (the rest is up to you) to kick off the year of bikepacking in January.
It's such a great event, though not all have this amount of luxury!
As a rule, I usually avoid fire, mostly because I can't be trusted, but this fire was in a proper indoor fire pit, away from trees, dry grass, and animals (except us, obviously). I accidentally put someones drying sock on the fire which was attached to a splinter on some wood that was waiting it's turn in the fire. Luckily, the "Sock Cookers" themed socks we got at the start made a useful gift to cover the desocked.
This was the first trip of 2022, it's going to be a big year for bikepacking and this was a fantastic way to kick it off!
