Ypres Rally 2024 - SS9: Kemmelberg 1 + SS1 Div 2 - all cars on the cobbles (raw footage) - mistakes

Описание: The first stage on Saturday of the 60th Ardeca Ypres Rally, a first pass on SS Kemmelberg, the 'assasin' of tye Ypres Rally, that got Jos Verstappen this time. He hit a tree and lost his front left wheel. The stage was paused for more than 30 minutes to get the car of the road, but was resumed and not cancelled!

However we visited this stage lots of times before, we never visited the cobblestones uphill although it is a very famous location. Since we did not visit the cobbles in the Rally van Wervik, and the Aarova Rally will not be held anymore... We had to visit this one for our cobblestone section for this year!

There were some mistakes (overshoots) before entering the cobbles, especially in Div 2, but nobody misjudgded the grip on the the cobblestones, fortunately.

It looks like Verschueren overshot a corner on this stage, he drops 22 seconds to the stage winner and rewatching the images, the front right of the car is damaged. See at 03:12

There was also the moment of Gilles Pyck (thumbnail), we first thought the car lifted because he turned in too early and hit the inside of the corner, but in another video I saw from the rear, it is visible that actually a cobblestone came loose behind his rear right wheel while he was cutting, what launched the rear of the car in the air. So it was not really a mistake, just unfortunate. See at 03:41

There also was the pass of Pieter-Jan Maeyaert who is just majestic in his E30 M3!! See @6:58
