I'm going from SDRPlay's SDRConnect and SDRUno receiver programs, while listening to Aviation at 5.55Mhz (USB) on my SRP1A receiver.
I've been experimenting with a square loop antenna which sets directly on the ground. The original plans use a 60' (15' each side) loop of wire and an isolation transformer. The isolation transformer created a 60hz hum, which was problematic and very noisy for me. This loop is larger at 88' (22' each side) and the troublesome isolation transformer has been omitted. I'm using a 60' run of 75 coax instead. The tower being heard is in NY, about 450 miles from me. The time of this recording was between 4:30 & 5:00pm. December 28th 2025.
