A clinical psychologist, Courtney explores mental health and its impact on neurodivergence, offering an authentic and inspiring vision for achieving personal balance. I am a licensed clinical psychologist born and raised in Southern California. I am proud to say that I am the older sister of a brother on the Autism Spectrum and he has taught me patience, acceptance of differences, the beauty of uniqueness, honesty and authenticity. Personally, I do not fit into a box. I find that in many situations I am immediately judged based on my appearance. I have learned to accept the initial judgment and break the stereotypes. I embrace being unique, inquisitive, hard-working, kind, intelligent and I enjoy empowering others to be true to themselves rather than feeling pressured to follow expectations imposed upon us This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
