This stop motion art video is a tribute to everyone at Dr. Brassard's medical facilities in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

On June 7, 2011, I went under the knife to undergo Gender Reassignment Surgery, a very invasive procedure and one-way trip from male to female in the most meaningful and intimate sense of this journey. It was a complete success. It's all over! I'm me at last! I was oddly at a loss for something insightful to say, so I spoke from the heart.

Happy New Birthday to me! Congratulations! It's a girl!

It feels so deeply moving when the image in your mirror finally matches the image that has always been etched into your heart and mind.

Please take a moment, gaze in a mirror and be grateful if it is YOU gazing back.

If it isn't, do something about it in a positive way. Life is far too short to do otherwise. Seize the moment. Make decisions. Make mistakes. That means you're learning. Don't give up on your dreams, because they belong to you and no one can ever take them away from you. Don't give up hope. Keep trying. When you do feel like you have lost all hope, ask yourself if you're going to look back and wish you had tried again, because the best things in life... they don't come for free!
