It's a wedge-shaped fat-filled space situated below the pelvic diaphragm on each side of the anal canal. Two fossa on each side communicate each other behind the anal canal. anteriorly above the urogenital diaphragm forming the anterior recess.

The pudendal canal, also known as Alcock's canal, is a narrow passageway in the pelvis that contains the pudendal nerve, internal pudendal artery, and internal pudendal vein. It's formed by the fascia of the obturator internus muscle. The canal runs from the lesser sciatic foramen to the deep perineal pouch.
Key points about the pudendal canal:
Location:
Situated on the superolateral wall of the ischioanal fossa.
Contents:
Contains the pudendal nerve (which supplies the perineum and external genitalia), the internal pudendal artery, and the internal pudendal vein.
Formation:
The canal is formed by a thickening of the obturator fascia, which is a layer of connective tissue covering the obturator internus muscle.

The ischiorectal fossa, a wedge-shaped space on either side of the anal canal, primarily contains a fat pad, the pudendal canal (containing the pudendal nerve and internal pudendal vessels), and other perineal nerves and lymphatic trunks.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Contents of the Ischiorectal Fossa:
Ischiorectal (or ischioanal) fat pad: This is the main component, providing cushioning and allowing for expansion of the anal canal during defecation.
Pudendal canal: Located on the lateral wall of the fossa, it houses the pudendal nerve and the internal pudendal artery and vein.
Inferior rectal branches of the pudendal nerve: These nerves innervate the anal canal.
Posterior scrotal/labial nerves and vessels: These structures are also present in the fossa.
Perineal branch of S4: This nerve provides sensation to the perineum.
Perforating cutaneous nerve: This nerve also contributes to the sensation of the perineum.
Lymphatic trunks: These are part of the lymphatic drainage system of the area.
Inferior rectal artery and vein: These vessels supply blood to the anal canal.
