INGREDIENTS: For Sugar Caramel
5 tbs granulated Sugar + 2 tbs water + 1/4 Cup water after caramel mixture
for Coconut milk :
350 gms freshly grated Coconut
2 Cups (500 ml) coconut milk
Preparing for the Bebinca mixture:
6 egg yolks
200 gms granulated Sugar
120 gms all purpose flour (maida)
1/2 tsp nutmeg powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1 tsp Vanilla essence
Preparing for Sugar Syrup :
3 tbs Sugar
1/4 Cup water
50 gms butter for greasing
Bebinca (Bibik)is a traditional Goan dessert from the Indian state of goa
Bibinca is made using Coconut milk, egg yolks , Sugar , flour & butter. what makes it unique is its multiple layers- traditionally 7 to 16 layers- which are cooked one layered at a time.
Each layer is baked until set before adding the next.
The dessert reflects Portuguese influence on Goan food culture
Bebinca is usually served in thin slices
often slightly warm is known for its rich
soft melt in the mouth texture
