For a Japanese who grew up with Dragon Ball, Goku is the least selfish and most virtuous hero ever!
I see many discussions in the U.S. on whether Goku from Dragon Ball is selfish.
I wondered why we perceive Goku so differently. Let's compare with Superman!
Here is my thought: Japanese and Americans have different definitions of selfishness.
Japanese idea of selfishness has nothing to do with social justice or power.
It is purely based on motivation.
