Downgrading a Sonos system from S2 to S1 isn't a direct software rollback feature but rather involves resetting your system to operate on the older platform. If all your Sonos devices are S1-compatible (meaning you don't own S2-only products like the Arc, Beam Gen 2, or Era series), you can revert. The process typically requires factory resetting every Sonos speaker and component in your system. After the resets, uninstall the Sonos S2 Controller app from your devices. Then, download and install the Sonos S1 Controller app (often labeled "Sonos S1 Controller" in app stores). With the S1 app installed, proceed to set up your Sonos system from scratch, adding each speaker individually as if it were a new setup. Be aware that this will erase all your existing settings, playlists, and services, requiring you to reconfigure everything within the S1 environment. Ensure you have the correct S1 app, as the S2 app will not allow S1 system setup.
