Zunami - Lakeside Songs (Full Album Visualizer)

Описание: Sorry for the late upload to YouTube!! I already released this album everywhere else on the 24th of September but I had problems with making the visual.

But yeah this is the 2nd album I've made and I'm really proud of this. While the first album was more focused on the story, this is more focused on the individual songs. I wanted the songs for this album to mostly consist of real instruments, straying away from my usual EDM style of music.

This isn't a concept album, but the songs are all representative of the mood I was in while making the album (I was in a happy mood :D). During the making of the album I was also thinking a lot about the concept of time, which is a theme for a few of the songs, and is also featured in the album cover as the pocket watch in the center.

A bit of commentary for each song for anyone interested:

Valssi vaarille (Grandfather's Waltz) is the first thing I came up with when I started playing the accordion, so it made sense to be the opening song. I composed it in the summer of 2023, and waited until I could put it on an album. The song is also kind of dedicated to my grandpa.

Lomapojan humppa (Vacation Boy's Humppa) was composed the same summer as Valssi vaarille, and I released it the same summer as a joke song called Humppatron. I eventually decided to make it an actual humppa and not EDM (humppa is a traditional Finnish style of dance music). This and the first song's names are originally in Finnish, if anyone was confused about those.

Sweet and Bitter was originally a love letter to one of my favorite albums Maisemakuvia Suomesta by Anssi Tikanmäki. I then remember an old concept I had for a song, that was supposed to sound like the Moomin soundtrack, so I decided to combine the two styles into one song!

Wish Upon a Flower is a very important song for me. I don't even remember how I came up with it over a year ago, but it holds a special place in my heart. For me it represents childhood dreams. I purposely made the song using a lot of instruments used in music schools for little kids.

Bluebell Chimes was originally a concept for my first album Break the Cycle. It didn't fit in the story, so I just used the same concept to make a song for this album. This song is supposed to sound very magical and mystical. Also, bluebells are my favorite kind of flower :)

Wanderer had a weird journey until a decided to put it on this album. Originally it was a lot more electronic sound wise, and I wanted to put it on a different album with the name "The World". The main melodies just appeared in my mind one night when I was trying to sleep, so I had to get up and write the melodies down quickly. Turned out very nice!

Blush unfortunately doesn't have an interesting backstory. I just really wanted to make a jazz fusion song so that's what I did :D It's supposed to sound like the exciting feeling of having a crush!

Blink of an Eye is a collaboration between me and my very good friend and musician Nooa Airaksinen. We started making this song in April when Nooa said that he wanted to make a prog rock song with me, and later we decided to put it on this album. A lot of the main elements in the song were decided by Nooa, while I did all the hard stuff like mixing and the actual composition part. The song is about how many things in life are only temporary.

Flight of Fancy is simply amazing in my eyes. It radiates such an energy that I can't really describe it. The song just makes me really happy and proud of myself. The fiddle in the song was recorded by my friend and a very talented musician Viljami Pruiksma, so a huge thanks to him for making the song sound so good. I think Flight of Fancy is a perfect ending for the album and one of my best pieces of music.

I'm planning on making a sequel for Lakeside Songs one day. It will be in the same style as this one, but I'll hopefully be much more skilled :D
