Sentry Pacific Mission#6 'Lights, Camera, Action'
FULL DISCLOSURE CONTAINS SPOILERS:
This video will completely spoil the mission, and since this is one of the more popular missions in the campaign, if you haven’t flown it yet and want to experience it fresh, now’s your chance to bail out. You’ve been warned. It’s also not edited and full-length.
Mission 6 of 13 in my Sentry Pacific 25 campaign, and today we’re flying a simulated D-model to provide Combat Camera support for an INDOPACOM press event. So today we’ve got a USAF combat cameraman riding shotgun in the back seat. - simulated of course.
The primary task is to photograph a B-1 during a low-level Mk-82 delivery, flying in very close formation. After that, we’ll rendezvous with a flight of A-10s for a pre-planned photo op, then recover back to Andersen AFB to shoot an instrument approach, in lousy weather.
One more thing to mention—since the weather is absolutely terrible today. We’re flying under IFR, meaning instrument flight rules, on a filed IFR flight plan, staying in constant contact with ATC. Since we’re operating in IMC, or instrument meteorological conditions, we’ll be relying on air traffic control to keep us separated from other traffic the entire time.
Also, for those that have already played this mission you should know, that this is the latest version and includes additional dialogue you may not have heard previously, along with updates added for the next DCS update. Bone-1 has also been configured with Mk-82 AIRs for today’s drop, which should make him easier to fly alongside. Bottom line: this is the version of the mission that will ship with the next DCS update.
