The first of four supermoons to occur in 2023 will take place in July, showcasing a brighter and larger lunar display than any other full moon event this year. A supermoon is when the moon appears slightly bigger in the sky due to its elliptical orbit around the Earth. This month's moon is also known as the buck moon, as it is the time when male deer's antlers grow. The supermoon will be followed by two more in August, including a blue moon, and the final supermoon will rise on September 29. Additionally, there will be lunar and solar eclipses, as well as several meteor showers throughout the year. The annular solar eclipse on October 14 will be visible in North, Central, and South America, while the partial lunar eclipse on October 28 can be seen in parts of Europe, Asia, Australia, North America, and South Africa. Nine meteor showers are expected to peak in 2023, with their peak dates ranging from July to December. It is recommended to view these meteor showers in areas with minimal light pollution during the late evening until dawn.
