Circumnavigation of Svalbard aboard Atlas Ocean Voyages' yacht World Voyager on 20 - 31 July 2025.
After our morning landing and hike at Faksevågen on July 26, we motored past Kapp Fanshawe and crossed Hinlopenstretet to Nordaustlantet - we were again in search of walrus. We found a huddle of females with pups at Palanderbukta where we observed them from zodiacs (waves were a bit of a challenge).
Then it was a short journey over to the glacier at Palanderbreen and following that stop we sailed back into Wahlenbergfjorden then Hinlopenstretet where we turned right and headed north. The wine served at dinner that night was "Sea Change" - was it a foreshadowing of what lay ahead?
