"We've seen a statement by the office of the Israeli Prime Minister. We've heard the statement by Mr. Araghchi (Iranian Foreign Minister). So far, we have not seen or heard any other statements from Tehran, and of course, we have seen the numerous statements by President Trump. If a ceasefire has indeed been achieved, it can only be welcomed. This is what the Russian Federation has been calling for since the beginning of this conflict, and we hope that it will be a sustainable ceasefire."

4. SOUNDBITE (Russian) Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin:
"There was no written document, but there were certain signals from the Iranian leadership. Yes, that's true. There are many now who want to add fuel to the fire, to spoil the partnership between Moscow and Tehran. Russia has in fact supported Iran with the clear position it has taken. We intend to further develop our relations with Iran. These discussions (parallels between Moscow’s muted response to the recent strikes on Iran and its failure last December to stop the fall from power of its Syrian) were and will be existing, it's inevitable."

6. SOUNDBITE (Russian) Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin:
"The (NATO) summit kicks off today, and one of the main objectives of this NATO, North Atlantic Alliance summit, is to decide on increasing the expenses to 5% of GDP of member countries. The Alliance is confidently moving along the path of rabid militarization. Since they need to push through the decision on 5%, they need to portray a monster from hell. From the perspective of these NATO officials, our country naturally fits the role of the monster best."

STORYLINE:
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Tuesday denied claims that Russia has failed to give meaningful support to Iran in its war with Israel, and charged such statements aimed to strain Russian-Iranian relations.
“There are many now who want to add fuel to the fire, to spoil the partnership between Moscow and Tehran,” Peskov told reporters.
“Russia has in fact supported Iran with the clear position it has taken. And, of course, we intend to further develop our relations with Iran,” he said.
At the same briefing, Peskov was asked about media coverage drawing parallels between Moscow’s muted response to the recent strikes on Iran and its failure last December to stop the fall from power of its Syrian ally, former President Bashar al-Assad.
Peskov responded by saying such “discussions” were “inevitable,” but did not comment further.
