Norfolk and Western was home to one of the last strong-holds for steam locomotives in the 1950s. Even then, they were still building new steam power, with the last ones built being a group of 0-8-0 steam switchers, that didn't even last 10 YEARS. This will cover the brief history of these possibly redundant classes of Steam locomotives on the Cargo-moving railroad.
