This Rusted GMT400 K3500 Isn’t Giving Up (Tear down Continues)

Описание: We’re back on the 1999 GMC K3500 GMT400, continuing the tear down as we work toward stripping this chassis for "good" parts.

This is not the completed tear down yet.. but we made serious progress.

The goal right now is simple: remove components, break stuff, and see what is left before any rebuilding or swapping begins.

After 25+ years, this truck is putting up a fight.

What Happens in This Episode:

• Removing the wiring harnesses due to visible damage and past splices
• Cutting the drive line at the front yoke to keep tear down moving
• Snapping a rusted stud.. on the transmission. PRNDL switch
• Fighting seized wheels and frozen torsion bars and the keys
• Removing steering gearbox and idler arm
• Pulling the engine, transmission, and transfer case as one complete unit
• Gut check on using the Vortec 350 or something else..

The chassis is starting to open up, but we’re not at bare rails yet. There’s still more to remove before the next frame takes over.

We also uncover heavy corrosion around the transfer case adapter plate — that’ll need closer inspection before any reassembly decisions are made.
