"Chaplains are part of the holistic model of care, which also acknowledges the spiritual aspect of a person's existence, as well as some of the cultural aspects of care," says Camille Graham, MD, Executive Community Physician at Cincinnati Children's.
Chaplains bring support for the patients, families and sometimes even for the care team. When families are looking for answers to questions such as, "Why did this happen to my child?" the chaplains are there for support. At Cincinnati Children's, they're part of a team approach to care.
