#BaboonTop, also known as #baboonvalley or Baboon Meadows, is a hidden gem in the upper reaches of Neelum Valley, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan. Located at an elevation of approximately 12,700 feet (3,870 meters), this remote alpine destination offers breath-taking natural beauty.
How to Reach Baboon Top:
Accessing Baboon Top requires careful planning due to its remote location:
From Keran: A 4x4 vehicle can take you from Keran to Nagdar Nala, followed by a trek to Karkah village, which takes approximately 1.5 hours.
From Kutton: An alternative route involves traveling from Kutton to Jagran, then to Shaal. From the road's end at Shaal, a 2-hour jeep track leads to Baboon Top.
Road Conditions: The track is unpaved, narrow, and features sharp curves, steep gradients, and dangerous drop-offs, all with breath-taking views along the way.
Vehicle Requirement: A 4x4 vehicle is essential due to the rough and tough track.
Travel Time: The journey typically takes 3 to 4 hours from Keran without stops while 2 hrs from Shaal village, Jagran.
Best Time to Visit: April to early September, as heavy snowfall can render the track impassable during other months.
Camps are available at cheap rates 2000 to 2500 per night per camp.
