The new Sandero Stepway adopts elements from the world of crossover models. This is shown primarily by the higher ground clearance of 201 mm (+39 mm compared to the new Sandero, mainly thanks to the larger wheels). The stronger nature of the New Sandero Stepway is also evident in the roof rails, the pronounced wheel arches and the protective inserts in the lower area of ​​the side doors.

16-inch wheels with the «Flexwheel» cover are used as standard. This takes on the look of real light alloy rims, which are also optionally available. In addition, exclusive Stepway alloy wheels with a diamond effect are available as an option. They reinforce the crossover character of the new Sandero Stepway.

The roof bars of the new Sandero Stepway do not immediately show what they can do. They are not only beautiful, but also rotatable and therefore practical. With a key stowed in the glove compartment, they can be loosened within seconds and without complicated dismantling and fixed lengthways. Both as a roof rack (across) and as a roof rail (lengthways), they are designed for loads of 80 kg. The patented innovation bears the signature of Dacia: smart, practical, simple and reliable.

Inside, the new Sandero Stepway is distinguished by the STEPWAY logo on the seat panels and the orange inlays on the dashboard and door panels.
In the interior, the new models show clear progress, from the quality impression, the materials and the manufacturing tolerances to the ergonomics in operation and the new equipment. As a real Dacia, the New Sandero and the New Sandero Stepway also combine the best in terms of comfort inside the vehicle

The two new models offer space for three adults in the rear seats. The rear seat backrest can be folded down, depending on the equipment in a ratio of 1/3 to 2/3. The trunk allows traveling with the whole family. It has a volume of 328 liters and - depending on the version - a double trunk floor. Opening and locking are carried out via remote control, either via the button on the key or via the contactless key card (Keycard Handsfree). The dimensions of the interior correspond to the next higher vehicle segment, especially in the leg room of the rear passengers. Compared to the previous model, these have a 42 mm extended space around the knees. The storage space has also been increased by 2.5 liters to a total of 21 liters, of which 1.4 liters under the center armrest. The other storage spaces are located in the front and rear side doors and on the backrest of the front seats.

With Media Control, the smartphone positioned in front of the driver on the bracket mutates into a multimedia system.
The new free app Dacia Media Control and the connection via Bluetooth or USB connection make it possible. The system offers uncomplicated access to radio, music, telephony, news, GPS applications and other functionalities, including control via Siri and Android voice recognition. Operating the radio using the buttons on the steering wheel and the satellites behind the steering wheel increases driving safety.
Without a connection between smartphone and media control, the radio and reading of messages are available via USB connection.
This equipment includes two speakers, Bluetooth, a USB port and the digital 3.5-inch TFT display, which also shows the information from the radio.

Media Display comprises four loudspeakers and a large 8-inch touchscreen, positioned above the center console and slightly facing the driver. The interface, which is as comfortable as it is intuitive, also has a connection via Bluetooth. It is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A new "car" interface enables access to the settings of assistance systems (ADAS).

The New Sandero and New Sandero Stepway are based on the new modular CMF platform. This helps both models to achieve greater strength and torsional stiffness with reduced weight. The latter helps to reduce emissions. The two new models thus meet both the stricter emissions regulations and the higher requirements for crash tests.

The engineers installed a rectangular wishbone on the new front axle, which better filters the vibrations from the road and guides the wheel more precisely. The inclination of the body in the curve has also been reduced and the wider wheel track ensures more stability in the curve. The new, reinforced engine subframe reduces the transmission of vibrations into the interior.
