Indian Navy has deployed three warships in the Gulf of Oman under Operation Sankalp to escort LPG tankers Shivalik and Nanda Devi passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
These ships are carrying around 92,700 tons of LPG, equal to more than a day of India’s cooking gas demand.
The deployment also aims to protect oil tankers and cargo ships heading to India amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
