On February 15, 2026, at approximately 2:15 p.m., C-Shift was dispatched to a reported house fire in the 500 block of South Kaywood.
Engine 1 arrived on scene to find a single-story rancher with smoke showing from the roof. While deploying an attack line, Engine 1 received reports of a possible occupant still inside the structure. Crews made rapid entry into the residence, quickly located the occupant, and safely removed them without injury.
Truck 2 and Engine 16 arrived shortly after and assisted with fire attack, ventilation, and overhaul operations. Firefighters encountered a well-involved attic fire, which was quickly contained and extinguished.
