One of the first questions beginners ask is this one: What kind of pick should I get?

The answer is that there is no such thing as a "best pick," any more than there is a best color or best ice cream flavor. You find what works for you and you go with it! However, just as choosing a favorite ice cream flavor involves eating a whole lot of ice cream, you've got to try a bunch of picks before you figure out what you like and what you don't.

Thick or thin? Teardrop, oval, or triangle? Celluloid, plastic, or nylon? There are so many combinations and you've got to try some. Fortunately, since they cost only pennies, you don't have to break the bank when you experiment! So go ahead, splurge on picks and party on until you see what works.

In this video, I go through my top 4 picks, and what I like about each one. I didn't realize it until I made the video, but apparently I'm a fan of Jim Dunlop.
