In this Bible study, I’m getting honest about something the Lord has been correcting in me: complaining and an ungrateful heart.
I walk through Numbers 11:1, 4–6 and how the Israelites complained about their hardship and even longed for the food they had in Egypt, the garlic, the fish, the familiar things, forgetting the bondage God had just delivered them from. If I’m honest, I have done the same. I allowed my circumstances to dictate how I perceived God. When things felt heavy or confusing, I started viewing Him through the lens of my discomfort instead of His faithfulness.
What makes this even more humbling is that while I was wrestling internally, I later went through old mail and found check after check, unexpected provision that God had literally sent to me. They were supernatural reminders that He was providing the entire time I was questioning Him.
I also briefly talk about how introversion can sometimes steal God’s praise in church and how staying quiet out of comfort can slowly become withholding glory that belongs to Him.
There was even a moment when I sincerely contemplated walking away from God. That is why this conversation matters. Complaining is not just venting. It can reveal what we truly believe about who God is.
If you have ever felt disappointed with God, let your circumstances shape your theology, struggled with gratitude, or quietly wrestled with walking away, this study is for you.
Let us talk about how to move from complaint to conviction and from longing for Egypt to gratitude for freedom.
