City of Rocks State Park ~ New Mexico State Parks

Описание: Hi friends, I am starting a new series on New Mexico State Parks. I bought a State Parks annual camping pass for 2022 and I would like to visit/camp at as many parks as I can! I'll take you along for the ride!

My first stop was City of Rocks State Park just north of Deming, New Mexico. I chose this one because I was on my way home to Arizona for the holidays! My dog and I stayed one night at site #15 in the North Pegasus Loop. It is a primitive site meaning no electric or water hook-ups although, it does have a picnic table, fire pit and trash can!

City of Rocks was formed 35 million years ago when a volcano erupted creating 40 foot rock columns. There is a visitor's center, hot showers, drinking water spigots and over 40 camp sites!
