✈️ 3 hours in London! 🇬🇧

Описание: On our way from Germany to the United States we had an eight hour layover at Heathrow Airport. 🛬 We decided that since we were short on time that the most direct approach would be to take an Uber into the city. It was about £50 (plus tip) and took an hour one way. With two hours for the round trip we gave ourselves a three hour window to explore London on foot. With limited time, we did have four things on our "must" list: Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and a spot of tea! 🇬🇧

We had the Uber drop us off near Buckingham Palace and began our adventure! It was about 9AM when we arrived so not too busy yet. Afterwards, we strolled through St. James Park, crossed over on The Blue Bridge and then stopped at the Café at Storey's Gate for a quick coffee and snack. Next, we did the obligatory photos at the telephone booth on Great George Street before Big Ben and the Westminster Bridge. We had hoped to go inside Westminster Abbey, but the tickets were sold out. We entered the Dean's Yard through the Westminster School and then walked around the block so we could see all of the outside of Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. Then we headed down Victoria Street, stopped at some shops, and visited Westminster Cathedral. From there, it was under a ten minute walk to The English Rose Café. This was the perfect spot to enjoy some scones and cheers some English Breakfast tea. 🫖 Then our three hours were up! We called an Uber to pick us up outside and headed back to the airport. 🛫 Time to return to the USA after our grand three year adventure in Europe! 🇺🇸
