Описание: Have you ever attended a Music & the Landscape themed concert?

For the past couple of years, Michelle Greenwell from the www.greenewellcenter.com and Cape Breton Tea Company has brought artists, photographers, poets and musicians together for the Music & Landscape themed concert which is part of the Cape Breton international Colours Festival, Community Events.

The idea of music and the landscape is one which I myself, Colin MacLeod, resonate with. For example, there are a lot of mountains on the West Coast of Scotland and it is interesting how the short lengths of the notes and decorations of the bagpipe playing reflect the short sharp tops of some of the mountains and crags on the West Coast of Scotland.

For this particular concert which Michelle Greenwell is MC'ing, Doug Fraser's third pairing was titled,'Golden Serenity'.

Listen to Doug's inspiration for creating the painting and then to the interoperation of intuitively playing to the painting by myself, Donna and the audience joining in with their own voice, this time choosing the notes that they might sing.

Michelle's Cape Breton Tea Company Harmony Tea Series has also matched a tea with Doug's painting called 'Golden Serenity.'

For some reason, this particular recording brought tears to my eyes when everyone was playing and singing together in harmony.

The sum of the music of everyone playing and singing together is truly greater than the sum of the individual.

I should also mention that, in 2013, a study of a choir singing together was carried out. It was found that everyone in the choir had the same heart beat rhythm.

A question I have asked myself after the concert was, did everyone at the concert have the same heart beat?
