In today’s video, we are testing the cheapest AGM 100Ah battery that we purchased on Allegro. During the purchase, the price looked very attractive, and the description suggested that it was a standard AGM battery with a 100Ah capacity, ideal for various applications—from campervans to photovoltaic systems. However, the lack of precise specifications, particularly regarding the capacity type (C20 or C10), raised our suspicions. So, we decided to check if the product truly delivers what the manufacturer promises.
To accurately verify the actual capacity of this battery, we conducted 21 capacity tests using professional equipment. Each test was designed to precisely measure the battery’s performance and determine how close it comes to the claimed 100Ah capacity. Unfortunately, the results were disappointing. In none of the tests did the battery even come close to the 100Ah value. The actual capacity was significantly lower, which will certainly disappoint anyone who expects to fully utilize 100Ah in their system.
One of the key issues with this battery was the ambiguity in the product description. The manufacturer did not specify how the capacity was measured—whether it was for a C20 (20-hour) cycle or a C10 (10-hour) cycle. These two values are crucial as they determine how long the battery can provide energy before it runs out. C20 capacity, more commonly used for AGM batteries, indicates the amount of energy delivered by the battery during a 20-hour discharge cycle. C10, on the other hand, refers to more intensive use over a 10-hour period. The lack of this information can mislead buyers into thinking that 100Ah capacity is available in every scenario, which is not true in reality.
When testing the battery, we also noticed that its performance dropped significantly under lower loads, which is another sign that the product does not meet the expected standards. With traditional AGM batteries, you can expect stable performance, but here we observed serious fluctuations. This means that even if someone doesn’t intend to heavily load the battery, they still cannot rely on full performance.
Our tests showed that cheap products like this battery may look attractive, but in reality, they often prove insufficient. The problem is not only the lower-than-declared capacity but also the lack of transparency from sellers. Buyers can easily be tempted by the lower price, not realizing that in practice, they are getting a product that doesn’t meet expectations. What seemed like a saving could ultimately turn into a loss of money.
Our advice for those looking for AGM batteries is simple—always thoroughly check the technical specifications before buying. Make sure that the manufacturer or seller provides detailed information about the type of capacity, testing methods, and how the battery performs in real-world conditions. It’s also important to pay attention to user reviews and whether the seller offers a return or exchange policy if the product doesn’t meet expectations.
In conclusion, it’s worth noting that price often correlates with quality. If a price seems too good to be true, there’s a good chance that the product won’t meet expectations. In the case of batteries, which are a critical component of many systems, it’s better to choose reputable brands and products with guaranteed quality. This way, you can avoid the frustration of faulty equipment and the unnecessary costs of replacement.
We invite you to watch our video, where we go over the test results in detail and share our conclusions. We hope it will help you make more informed purchases and avoid unnecessary problems.
