We arrived in Buenos Aires on a Saturday evening and quickly learned that Argentina’s cash system is very different from what most travelers expect. ATMs wouldn’t give us pesos, banks were closed until Monday, and suddenly we were stuck surviving on just $100 USD for 36 hours.
