The nomination process for the Rajya Sabha elections in Odisha will take place today. BJP candidates Manmohan Samal and Sujit Kumar will file their nomination papers. From BJD, Santrupt Misra will submit his nomination, while Datteshwar Hota will contest as the joint candidate of BJD and Congress.

Meanwhile, former minister Dilip Ray will file his nomination as an independent candidate. All candidates will submit their nomination papers before the Returning Officer at the Odisha Legislative Assembly.

Elections are being held for four Rajya Sabha seats from Odisha, with five candidates in the race. While two BJP candidates and one BJD candidate are almost certain to secure seats, the main contest is expected for the fourth seat between the joint BJD-Congress candidate Dr. Datteshwar Hota and independent candidate Dilip Ray. Political observers say cross-voting cannot be ruled out, which could make the contest even more interesting.
