BMW N47 Engine - 1, 3 & 5 Series, Plus X1 & X3 Diesel Models - Water Pump & Thermostat Replacement

In this video I am going to tackle a small job that I want to carry out on my BMW E82 1 Series 123d.

A water pump and thermostat replacement. As you will see it is a fairly straightforward process and can be easily achieved with regular hand tools.

As I stated in the video, I have only ever broken down twice in my entire driving career and on both occasions it was caused by BMW water pump failure. Now I prefer to replace them periodically as a purely preventative measure to ensure that I avoid a potential breakdown.

The cost of the parts is not that high and all can be bought for less than £100.
