Описание: @NVHArchive – Major Paul Loftus joined the Marine Reserve in 1940 while he was still in college. This was a group that eventually became the OCS. When the war started, Paul completed his officer’s training and was assigned to an unnamed and brand new camp that would eventually be called Camp Lejeune. Paul’s 1st Marine Division would soon sail to New Zealand where shore leave hopes were dashed by a sudden rerouting to a place called Guadalcanal. This is a story from one who was there. This is also a story of life before the war and of an elusive blonde, named Virginia, who would later share her story with us. One year after Paul died Virginia pulled out his interview and said it was like sitting with Paul again.
