The message is blunt: insider threats are the enemy within, and a new anonymous reporting tool, go.mil/Bystander-Engagement, is their first line of defense.

Every instinct scream at Jesse to use the platform. He sees the warning signs—the "static on the line" that the briefers warned about. But reporting Anya feels like a profound betrayal. He hesitates, paralyzed by friendship and the fear of being wrong. He tells himself it's nothing. He is wrong.

Suddenly, the garrison's network begins to flicker and die. An urgent investigation reveals the horrifying truth: Anya, ensnared by a criminal syndicate through a secret gambling addiction, has been selling them access. She has been systematically exfiltrating critical data, handing the keys to the kingdom to an unseen enemy. The immediate threat is neutralized, but the damage is done. A black cloud of distrust descends, and a terrifying question hangs in the air: What sensitive data did the syndicate get, and what is their next move now that their inside line has gone silent?
