"Politics is a man's game. You need to be x years old to be in politics..." Years of research have shown that women's participation in politics is essential for the quality of our democracies. Meet Cylcia Manwa, the youngest elected councillor in the UK. At age 19, she was elected to represent a ward in Essex, making her one of the youngest politicians in the UK. She is a Kenyan-British community leader, an LSE Politics and International Relations graduate, and currently serves as a Deputy Cabinet Member at Thurrock Council, focusing on youth engagement, diversity, and tackling violence against women.
