What was supposed to be a stormy washout turned into one of the best weekends of the season.
We headed out to Hale Creek on Harrison Lake for a Thanksgiving getaway — joined by Stefan and Sabrina (@DestinationAllterrain), Shaun (@TheStoryTillNow ), and Holly (@East_Coast_xpeditions).
The forecast called for relentless rain, so we kept things local in case the weather got out of hand. But luck was on our side — the heavy stuff held off until the final night, when the skies finally opened up and dropped the first snow of the season on the local mountains.
We managed to pull off a full Thanksgiving dinner right on the beach, surrounded by good friends, good food, and the sound of the lake. A reminder that sometimes, even when the weather looks rough, the best memories are made in the rain.
