A homicide investigation is underway after police found an 18-year-old dead from gunshot wounds in a car in south Charlotte on Friday night, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Zackary Rieken was found in a car on the 12800 block of James Blakeney Avenue, which is in a neighborhood east of Ballantyne. He was dead when police arrived.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing, police officials said. Charlotte police said Rieken was inside his car when he was shot.
