Описание: Dugi Otok is the largest and most remote island in the North Dalmatian islands and its name justifies a length of about 45 km. The island is wide between 1 and 4 km, very indented with numerous bays, and the highest peak on the island is Vela Straža, 338 meters high.

On the island are eleven settlements, of which Sali, Zaglav, Zman, Luka, Savar, Brbinj, Dragove, and Božava are located on the east side. Soline, Verunić, and Veli Rat are located on the northwest coast in the deep bays. Sali is the municipal and administrative center of the island and it has the most inhabitants.

The island is very well connected to the mainland and the city of Zadar by ferry and fast ferry lines. Accommodation on the island is offered in several hotels, two campsites, and numerous affordable apartments and rooms within a private family accommodation. The west coast of Dugi Otok is very attractive with steep with high cliffs, while the east coast is generally quiet and gentle with a number of coves, among which are sandy beaches Solišćica, Sakarun, Pantera, and Telašćica. These beautiful beaches are the ideal place for a relaxing family holiday, swimming, and enjoying the purity of the sea, and the beauty and tranquility of nature.

Lovers of active holidays and unspoiled nature can enjoy exploring the island by well-maintained and marked hiking and biking trails. We recommend visiting Nature Park Telašćica and nearby National Park Kornati. On Dugi Otok, there are several diving schools that will reveal the mysterious depths of the sea, which is rich in fish and marine life.
