Yummy Dishes is here with a spicy dish Andhra Chilli Chicken, an authentic recipe that is made with green chillies.
Ingredients: (Serves 2 -3 persons)
Chicken - 1/2 kg
Green chilli - 8 - 10 nos
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - As required
Water - 1 cup
Dark soya sauce - 1 tsp
Diced green chilli (optional) - 2 nos
Corn flour - 1 tbsp
Method:
1. In a jar grind green chilli without water to a coarse paste. Keep aside.
2. In a kadai add ghee. To this add ground green chilli paste and fry for a min.
3. Now add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
4. Add chicken and mix well.
5. Furthermore, add turmeric powder, salt and mix well.
6. Add water and cook with lid closed for 8 - 10 mins until chicken is tender.
7. Now add soya sauce, diced green chilli (optional) and give it a good stir.
8. Lastly, add corn starch (1 tbsp corn flour + 2 tbsp water) and cook for 2 -3 mins until gravy slightly thickens.
9. Relish the Yummy Andhra Chilli Chicken.
Suggestions:
1. You can increase or decrease the number of green chilli as per your spicy need.
2. Use long green chilli as they are mild spicy.
3. Do not use oil instead of ghee and it is an important step to this dish. Using ghee will reduce the heat from green chilli and give that typical taste of andhra chilli chicken.
4. You can add little sliced onion along with ginger garlic paste for a little varied version of this recipe. Onion will add a little sweetness to the recipe and hence balance the heat.
